LILONGWE (MalawiTalk) –Malawi Police in Kawale, Lilongwe have arrested a 24-year-old man on allegations of cyber harassment.
This offence is contrary to section 88 of Electronic Transaction Act.
According to Kawale police deputy spokesperson Mabvuto Phiri, the suspect, Mayeso Khobidi, committed the offence on March 5, 2021, at Chiuzira trading centre in Area 23, Lilongwe.
On this particular day, Phiri said, the suspect took video clips of the complainant and his wife enjoying conjungal rights in their bedroom.
The video clips were taken under duress, Phiri said.

He said the suspect later circulated the pictures and the video recordings on social media.
A complaint was made at Area 23 police unit and investigations were instituted, said Phiri adding the police arrested the suspect on March 18, 2021 .
Mayeso Khobidi , hails from Chiuzira village , Traditional Authority (TA) Tsabango in Lilongwe District.
