RUMPHI (MalawiTalk) – Leader of the Enlightened Christian Gathering (ECG)  church  Propget Shepherd Bushiri on Tuesday handed over Vwaza Community Day Secondary School to government which he constructed through his  Shepherd Bushiri Foundation.

The school, located at Hewe, in  Traditional Authority Zolokere in Rumphi District has four classrooms, staff houses, laboratory and a library.

Speaking as he handed over the school, Bushiri said  he hopes the institution will reduce long distance woes learners in the area face to access education.

Bushiri urged the community to take care of the facility, but also encourage their children to work hard in school.

Said Bushiri: “ The Lord encourages all of us to give. I am happy that through giving, I am sharing with the people of this area, the love of God.”

He has also promised to pay fees for all the 50 students in Form 2, and a further 62 students who are expected to start From 1.

Bushiri said will be returning to the school, month end of February, to handover two teachers’ houses, a sports facility, as well as library books and laboratory equipment.
